Confessions of a Christian Girl

Time is ticking away.
It seems like just yesterday, I was coming home from school, and was worried that i'd be spending my days, bored with nothing to do. I had hoped to get a job, and maybe just maybe make some new friends. As the summer soon began to start, I ended up getting a job at a place i never thought i'd see my self working. In a shoe store, haha. However, its been by far the best job in the entire world! The people are great and its a great place to work. Along the way, i've also made friends. Friends from church, and friends from other countries like Kenya :) I've also found stuff to do, well kinda, like going to a Bible study for college students, or chillen with other people. I've learned that no matter where you are, and no matter what age you are, you can make friends and find people who care about you. Although, I must say as ready as I am to go back to school, i will miss the people ive met over the summer, but I will see them again over Christmas break, well unless they go back home to Kenya...*coughs* (instert name here) *coughs* lol

Another Year, Another Chance
Today marks 19 years since I entered this world. Every year holds it's challenges and lessons. But for me, I would have to say this past year held more than ever before. I learned so many lessons and was challenged in so many ways. To start with the lessons, where to begin. Being at college I learned that no matter what mistakes you have made in life, God always loves you and will never stop loving you. He forgives you for those mistakes and he doesn't hold them against you at all. Secondly, I learned friends come when you don't expect them. One of the main people I met who really made a difference in my life, was my RA Lauren. She was always there for me, when I needed someone to talk to you about anything, she was there. I loved our accountability times whenever we ended up having them during the week. I'm soo happy I was on your hall, she really is an amazing Christian who taught me so much!! I made a ton of other friends who really made a difference in my life last year, like Joanna, Caitlin, and so many others. but as for the challenges, oh dear. I learned that sometimes, everyone around you may be right, but it's up to you to belive them. Also, I learned that you should never change who are you or what you believe or how you feel. If you feel a certain way, because of what happend to you in the past, don't let anyone make you feel lile you need to let it go until you are ready. It took me over a year to finally let go of my past and learn to trust guys again. But that took a long time and a lot of confidence in people. Lastly, I a lesson, that I think I will never forget. There is a song by Michael W. Smith called "Friends" the chorus of the song says "Friends are friends forever". I have learned that the people who really care about you, will never give up on you or stop talking to you just because you leave and move away. I'm so grateful to say that I have the greatest 2 best friends I could ever ask for. No matter what, they have been there for me, and I've learned year especially that not matter how far you are away, a true friend will never let you go, forget about you, or stop talking to you. So happy birthday to me! (:

ouch, ouch, ouch and ouch
so...breaking bones is a common thing in today's world. Although, when they do break they get fixed and heal the proper way. Well, for me, I broke my wrist when i was 10 (8 yrs ago). I had to get a cast put on it and everything, but I figured afterwards when the cast came off, I was ok. Haha, I wasn't. I can actually pop my wrist in and out of joint, which I should not be able to do. So anyway, I went to the doctor today, and he told me I should get an mri taken and then go see a specialist. This could actually mean that I might need surgury :( which scares me.. To be honest, I scared to death. All this time I thought it healed fine, but as the x-rays showed me today, the one bone is not even connected where its suppose to be, in fact its not even connected to anything. So, if you think of it, please keep me in your prayers as I go through this journey.

Take it to heart
A lot of people have a verse that they like or call their favorite. For me, that favorite verse is one that to me defines everyones life. My best friend spoke on the passage of Jeremiah 29:11-13 at our Baccalaurate in June of 2009 when we graduated high school. Ever since that day, that verse has been my favorite. The verse says "for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Every person in this world wonders what will happen to them in the future. Like all girls always wonder who that special guy is that they will marry. Even I wonder, although I do hope its a certain person..lol But putting that aside. God has layed out a plan for everyone. It may not always go how we want, or be what we want. I've also learned that God allows things to happen or allows us to do things that we may not understand until later in life. For me that has seemed to happen alot, but in the end, I learn lessons that are very amazing. Lessons that I will never forget and lessons that show me who my real friends are and that no matter what happens God is in control and has a plan for my life, as well as yours!!

The Definition of Friendship
If someone were to as me what I thought the definition of friendship was, I would very easily share a person who you can go to about anything, you can tell your secrets to and not have to worry about them telling anyone, someone who you can spend time with, and a person who does not judge you for anything. However, you will meet some people in your lifetime who have a different definition. It's those people who really need to get a life and realize that friends are valuable than they give them credit for. For me, I was very blessed and in 7th grade I met a amazing person named Tyler and then in 8th grage met another amazing person named John. While I have made some serious mistakes in my life that should have made an impact on our friendship, the 3 of us have been best friends. Even know, it has been very difficult for me, since my family moved from my hometown Carlisle. Making new friends has not been easy for me here and not exactly easy. I was very blessed to make some great new friends at college, people like my RA Lauren, Joanna a extremly sweet girl in my prayer group, and another very sweet girl named Caitlin. Making friends in college was not that hard to do. But the real struggle came, when I came from school. It is very hard to make friends in a new town when you hardly know anyone. Although I am thankfully making some new friends at church. So anyway, I guess what this whole thing was about is just me venting on how stupid some people are and how they take for granted that they actually have friends that care about them, but they treat them like dirt and dont care until something they need something or want something then they use that friend. So yea thats pretty much all I gotta say bout that..

The little things
Well here is my first post. haha! I decided to get this because i feel as though it would be fun and a cool way to share whats happening in my life. So, today my family got back a weekend camping trip with my brothers cub scout pack as well as 8 thousand other cub scout/boy scout families for the centential camping trip. I really dont like camping, but only went because i had nothing better to do. Later on in the evening, i got a call from my best friends. Since i was going out to dinner with my family, i called them back and was able to talk to them. because my family moved away last year, i am not able to see them much anymore and its sad. I have known them for years, but dont get to spend time with them. Thus, i get to the reason i titled this post "the little things". Everyday is a new challenge for me. In the past year, the littlest things in life have been hard, but i've learned to go to God with everything and he will provide everything we need. Very few college students that I have met, have had to move away the year after they graduate high school and then go 2 college and come home to a town where they hardly know anyone except for those who they met at college. But, the hardest things such as me going to college 5 hours from my best friends ive known since 7th and 8th grade, have made our friendship stronger and even though we dont get to see each other much, we are still best friends no matter the distance. So yea, this is my first post let me know what ya'll think comments are always welcome (:
